Savernake formed recently when Peter Miln & Daniel James, the musical partnership responsible for Firebrand, teamed up with outstanding vocalist Sarah Curtis. These three musicians contemporize beautiful, heart-warming and entertaining traditional songs dating from the sixteenth century to the present day. Their repertoire is arranged with delicacy and subtlety. Where their research has yielded songs which were collected without music, they have written their own. Whether traditional or self-penned, the resulting arrangements are always compelling and create a world which draws in the listener, leaving them spellbound.
Sarah Curtis has a voice of incredible purity and stunning beauty which leaves audiences wondering why they have not heard of her already. She lives in Wells and has sung with various bands and choirs as well as being a solo performer for many years. She now finds herself with the time to dedicate her career to music and is set to become hugely successful.
Peter Miln & Daniel James have been playing music together for ten years in many different guises, the most notable of which was the five-piece, Firebrand, who became festival favourites and toured extensively throughout the UK. Their album "Lost Lady Found" achieved critical acclaim and helped launch the career of Miranda Sykes - now to be found touring with Show of Hands.
